Hi, my name is Kris. I teach history at a university in the US, and am spending summer 2024 in Taiwan (about four months) doing research on the history and culture of vegetarian food in Taiwan. I will travel around Taiwan and eat all of the vegetarian food I can find! But I will be based out of Taipei while I am there.
I am married with two kids, and I enjoy running, sports, reading, travel, and a nice cup of something hot to drink while I am working. :)
I'm looking for someone to meet once or twice a week. It could be in the afternoons or evenings. If on the weekends, mornings would be okay as well. I am open to both zoom LE until early May when I go to Taiwan, and then when I am in Taiwan, perhaps in-person LE if the distance is not too far to travel (I will be staying near Dongmen station on the red line).
I used to live in Taiwan and in Hong Kong, for about 6 years, from 2006 to 2012, and have spent about a year in Taiwan in the last few years. I love Taiwan and miss Taipei. Such a beautiful place and I am happy to go back for a few months.
