Description
I am a retired American ESL teacher living in Mexico. I spend my time writing stories and political commentary, taking photos and editing them, and studying languages.
I'm fairly fluent in Spanish and relearning French, but I would like a language partner for Mandarin who could help me start conversing. I lived in China for four years, so tones are not a problem. However, over the past ten years, I haven't been very diligent or consistent in studying Chinese until the coronavirus pandemic hit. I've been studying daily for the past year and a half, but I'm not using it and I don't remember what I've learned.
My son lived in China also for a couple of years and married a woman from Jinan. They have been living in Oregon for the past ten years, and now have a daughter who is 17 months old. His wife's parents were living with them through the pandemic, so my granddaughter speaks mostly Chinese. We're a blended family, and I would like to be able to converse in Chinese with them.
