Hello, I'm Ed. I'm a legal professional from the best coast trying to find penpals to refine and expand my language skills. I'm a native English and Arabic speaker and primarily looking to get at least passable conversationally in Urdu so I can surprise someone but would be equally happy to practice French and Mandarin. I've become fairly boring in my big age but i enjoy reading novels and would love to have some foreign recommendations for literature or music! and speaking of music, my taste has sadly calcified and my favorites are now considered oldies but i'm always open to recommendations in other language’s, i dabble a bit with TTRPG and some video games but mostly to just keep in contact with friends.

Hello! I've been learning Mandarin for about 2 years, with a teacher. My wife is Chinese – I'm learning so that I can communicate with her mother and friends (and dog? ;) ). I was learning Japanese before I switched to Mandarin (my Japanese RIP).
I'm native Spanish, and I still regularly visit my parents in Barcelona. I also have a high-level of Catalan.
I'm a former Software Engineer, now Product Designer (UX/UI) for a startup whose mission is to empower the world's transition to a carbon net zero economy. We are the best at helping companies with complex supply chains decarbonize. If you happen to work in procurement, I'd love to learn more about how that department works!
On the side, I have a few side-projects: I'm making a course about learning how to make multiplayer online games. I'm making a virtual pet simulator / tamagotchi phone game (with the help of my cousin). And I've made a groceries automation app.
My hobbies are: boardgames, videogames, longboarding (freeride), chess, DJing (I just picked this up!), creating videogames, working on side-projects, reading self-improvement books, playing the guitar, drums, piano, singing (specially Linkin Park songs – RIP throat), badminton, padel, karting. Did I say boardgames?
I would love a partner who I can meet maybe once a week after work for language exchange, in person. I work between Monument and Tower Hill, and live close to Mile End. I'm good at keeping a conversation rolling!

Hi my name's Hyacinth. I dropped out of college two years ago! 😭 But I am returning in January. 😎☺️😎 I am doing volunteer work for the city currently. I play music and I like gardening. I love animals.Marigold is my daughter. She's a little baby black cat. I only speak english. I have been trying to learn Russian by listening to russianpod while I walk and also do chores etc. I have sat down and written Cyrillic in my journal and studied for hours at a time as well. I started last December. None of it stuck and I mispronounce things. I want to learn this because I am in love with someone from Moscow. Him and I have not gone out together since August. I think in time he will be back that we have something special. He made fun of me wanting to learn Russian. He is learning Spanish. He said hardly anyone speaks Russian in Texas and that Spanish is a more practical second language in Texas. I want to get back together with him and visit Moscow with him someday. I like having penpals and online friends. So if anyone wants to talk on the phone, video chat, text words vocabulary back and forth get to know each other and do some practice hit me up. I am a silly person I joke around a lot. I am kind of awkward and need more friends. I can help you with English but I am an absolute beginner not even close to fluent in Russian. I've been learning Arabic for almost 3 years now, and I still feel like a beginner, though my knowledge of grammar and vocabulary has become larger lately. My biggest dream is to become fluent in Arabic. I'm especially interested in Levantine dialect, but at the moment I need to focus on fusha and MSA first.
