Hi guys,
I am Dafne Duong, you can call me Dafne for short, as Duong is my Vietnamese name, and not everyone can pronounce it correctly. I was born and raised in Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, my specialized class back in high school was literature. So I can guarantee to anyone with whom I will have a chance to become a language partner that I speak perfect TV news reporter Vietnamese.
Even though I said in my profile that English is my native language, I have to make it clear I speak English at a professional level, but not as fluent as native speakers. I had a chance to study master of Law in the UK for 2 years, so I believe my English is quite fair. I have a goal to become a multilingual language speaker of 6 languages, so I am now on the way to conquering my 3rd language, which is Mandarin. The motivation I have for learning Mandarin is that I have a special feeling for China and the language, I feel like I was a Chinese person in my previous life. Haha, sounds a bit silly right? But it's true, every time I listen to Chinese and watch ancient TV series of China, I feel so familiar, like I was there. Having said that, my Chinese is only on the beginner level at the moment lol.
You must have guessed correctly one of my characters/hobbies, that is the spiritual topic. I am very fascinated by the universal unsolved aspect and secret, such as the Noah Boat, messages with aliens, and the ultimate goal of humanity. I love to read and I read a lot, mostly novels. I find it difficult for me to be attracted to self-help books, but I am still trying to find the suitable one for me. Also, I like all kinds of art too, going to museums is a treat for me, and watching movies is a special gift I send to myself whenever I have free time.
Currently, I am a Chairman’s secretary for a big investment company in Vietnam, but I won't be in this position for long. As I am on the way to looking for the true purpose of my existence, I will quit this job to do everything I have longed to, like studying new languages, reading more books, and making videos on my Youtube channel.
I must have said quite a lot about myself here, so I would love to make new friends and hear more about your stories. I hope that someone will see me interesting and willing to help me with my Chinese speaking. I can help you with your English and Vietnamese too.
