I am a visiting researcher in Edinburgh, and I would like to improve my English. I have noticed that people here in Edinburgh speak various forms of English, so I want to better understand them and make myself understood. Additionally, I have studied Spanish and Chinese by listening to Japanese educational radio programs for a few years, but I have rarely used them. As a result, my level is beginner, and I would like to practice speaking both Spanish and Chinese.

I've been living in Scotland for 8 years now, but I'm originally from the US. I lived in Boston before I moved to Edinburgh. My family is Chinese (via Taiwan), but I never learned to speak Chinese other than a year of Mandarin at uni. So I'm on the slow journey to rectify that. Would love to meet up with someone local to practise my baby Chinese with someone who needs a bit of English practice because, not gonna lie, the convo will mostly be in English!! I love.... crocheting and knitting, especially jumpers and cardigans / travelling, most recently to Corfu and hopefully Japan next / reading historical fiction and science fiction / dining out and sometimes cooking.
