Description
About Me
Hi! I’m Anthony from Michigan, USA. I first moved to Asia in the late 1990s and spent many years living in Taiwan, which still feels like a second home to me. I truly value Asian culture and the friendships I’ve made there over the years.
I will be traveling to Asia this August, including Taiwan and Vietnam, and I’m excited to reconnect and improve my Chinese — and start learning Vietnamese as well.
What I Do
I’m an entrepreneur and small business owner. I work in commercial real estate and also as a professional laser technician, running a laser clinic in the United States.
I enjoy real conversations about business, culture, travel, art, and everyday life — not textbook topics, but meaningful exchanges.
Languages
• English — Native
• Mandarin Chinese — Intermediate (a bit rusty, working on fluency again 😄)
• Vietnamese — Beginner (very interested in learning)
Why Language Exchange?
I’m looking not only for language practice, but also to build a genuine friendship with someone in Asia. I travel there regularly and hope to continue visiting often in the future. It would be wonderful to have a good friend I can meet for coffee, night markets, walks, or simple conversation whenever I visit.
I’m happy to help with English pronunciation, conversation skills, writing, or professional/business English in return.
Interests
Art, night markets, Taiwanese and Vietnamese food, coffee & tea chats, walking, history, travel, entrepreneurship, and cultural exchange. I enjoy thoughtful conversations and a relaxed sense of humor. I love Vietnamese art and hope to collect more!
If you’re friendly, patient, and interested in a natural, respectful language exchange that could grow into a lasting friendship, I’d love to connect 😊
Let’s start chatting before August!
