Ciao! I'm a British native speaker moving to Firenze in December 2022 to learn drawing and oil painting for at least three years. My course will be in English but I want to prepare before I arrive by learning lots of Italian in order to make friends and socialise, explore the city, network with art professionals and appreciate la belissima cultura Italiana. Also, I just happen to be a qualified UK school teacher of English Language and English Literature(5 years experience) and I'm also finishing the Cambridge CELTA course at the moment (teaching ESL to adults) - so, lucky you! You get some expert teaching/knowledge for free :-) In Italian, I am really a beginner. I have had 5 lessons and learned some basic nouns and verbs through apps like babbel and duolingo. I want to begin practising conversation before I arrive to build my fluency and vocabulary for different situations. It would be good to meet online via zoom for the next couple of months with the potential of face-to-face when I arrive in Firenze. My interests include: horse-riding, art, cycling, running, literature, food and learning about history and psychology and entrepreneurship/business. I look forward to hearing from you :-)
