Hello, I’m Neil, an English teacher living in Japan. I teach at universities in Kobe and Osaka and have also taught in the UK, Thailand, and Australia, as well as worked as an IELTS examiner.
I’d love to find a partner to practice Spanish—especially Rioplatense Spanish. My interest began during a trip to Buenos Aires in 2023, and I’m now taking lessons with an Argentinian teacher. A language exchange would be a great way to improve my Spanish while learning about another culture.
In return, I’ll be happy to help you with your English.

looking for native Japanese language partner
Ski / Snowboard Holiday
スキー/スノーボード休暇
I am from Australia.
I rented a small house at Hakuba Valley ( Nagano Prefecture ) January 19th to March 26th.
Is it OK to invite native Japanese Language partners to stay at the house to share language exchange?
Is it OK to ask for a 5000 yen per night contribution to the cost of renting?
I think it would be fun!
Or you could visit for one Hakuba for one day?
Your English does not need to be good.
Your age or other is not important.
We can meet.
We can do a self-introduction.
You point at something and ask in English 'What is that? ....and then I answer in slow English.
Then I point at something and ask ' それは何ですか ' ...and then you answer in slow Japanese.
That's easy for both of us!
(Please do not misunderstand, I am not asking for a romantic date :-) )
I can help with your English. I can correct your grammar. I can help you with pronunciation. I can help you with idioms (example 'give me a buzz' 'he gave me a cold shoulder' )
You can help me with my Japanese language.
Would you like to meet for language exchange in Hakuba?

Hi, I'm Nor!
I'm a Japanese speaker based in Japan, looking for language exchange partners who are serious about actually speaking — so I'm specifically looking for someone up for weekly online sessions together.
I'll be temporarily staying in Hungary / Poland / (possibly Belgium) / Taiwan in the coming years for work — local tips and insights on living there are more than welcome! 🙏
🌍 Languages I'm learning:
* 🇭🇺 Hungarian — Just started! (a few words so far...)
* 🇵🇱 Polish — Complete beginner
* 🇬🇧 English — Conversational (have lived in English-speaking countries)
* 🇨🇳 Chinese (Mandarin) — Beginner
🗣️ What I can offer:
* Japanese conversation & listening practice
* Open discussions on culture, politics, sports, global topics — in Japanese or English
* A reliable study partner who actually shows up 😄
(Fair warning: I naturally speak Japanese quite fast — but I'll slow down for you!)
📅 How I'd like to study:
Weekly online sessions (Zoom / Google Meet / etc.)
* Preferred: Tuesday or Thursday, around 20:30–21:30 JST
* Other times? Feel free to suggest!
⚠️ If you prefer SNS-only communication without video/voice sessions, I'm probably not the right match — please find someone who suits you better!
🎌 A little about me: I'm into Japanese tea ceremony (茶道), kimono & Japanese sewing (和裁), and I love traveling — I've visited around 30 countries and enjoy exploring Japan too. Happy to talk culture anytime!
💬 One more thing — I'm in my late 30s, so my conversation style tends to be on the calmer, more thoughtful side. If you're looking for someone to practice casual slang or Gen-Z expressions, I'm probably not your best match — but if you enjoy relaxed, mature conversations, we'll get along just fine! 😊
Looking forward to meeting you! 👋

Hello, I’m Kanako from Japan.
I was born in Tokyo, and currently live between Tokyo and Chiba.
I’ve been to Spain twice so far, and I’d love to go back someday.
I thought I’d enjoy it even more if I could speak Spanish, so I’ve been studying it little by little on Duolingo, though I’ve never actually spoken it.
I enjoy visiting art galleries, museums, and ethnographic museums.
I also like just sitting and relaxing while drinking tea. There are so many countries I want to visit, so I’d love to talk about travel and the cultures of different countries.
So I’m also interested in doing an English language exchange.
And I’ve been thinking about walking the “Camino Portugués,” so I’ve started studying Portuguese on Duolingo. I also love Brazilian music, so I’d like to be able to sing Jorge Ben Jor’s songs in Portuguese.
I’d prefer to meet online (via Google Meet, Zoom, etc.), but if our schedules align, we might be able to meet in person in Tokyo.

Nice to meet you. My name is Hiroshi.
I've always liked studying English since I was in high school
Now that I'm no longer a student, I'm not good at learning English. Since the Olympic Games will be held in Japan soon, I hope to be able to help people from overseas, so I registered. In the future, I would like to work for a foreign-affiliated company or travel abroad.
It's been a long time, but my hobbies are programming (beginning), studying English, and reading.
Thanking you in advance.

Hi! Thank you for seeing my profile! I'm Takeshi and 29 year-old Japanese man. I've been leaning English because I like it! But unfortunately, I can't speak it well though I can read and understand English sentences to some extent. So, I've been trying to find a friend who I talk with in English. My hobbies are learning English, running, watching movies, tv shows and anime, playing video games! If you are interested, please text me!
